Hootsuite Analytics is a tool used to measure and share the impact of interactions on social media. I designed and built a variety of materials that promoted use of the product and educated users on its features.

The Love List was an algorithm that used Hootsuite Analytics metrics to rank social media accounts based on the collective sentiment associated with conversations they had online.

Challenge -

Design and build a web interface capable of dynamically displaying, sorting, and paginating ranking data.

Process -

"So, I need to build a scoreboard, but it's going to require context. The ranking criteria needs to be communicated as clearly and concisely as possible."

"People will intuitively click on column headers when they want to sort stuff, but some of the data is long passages of text with images, so it would look really weird crammed into typical spreadsheet style layout."

"Only a few of the metrics that were measured make sense to display as different views. To figure out which data will go where, I'll have to compare some numbers and do a little math."

Conclusion -

"I like the idea of numbered cards and a single carefully worded sentence with user inputs that can be modified to semantically redefine the display logic of the app."
